Enjoying some beach time in Culross Bay, a great place for a
fire and lots of fun stuff for Caleb to explore.
Caleb woke up, walked right to the back of the boat - put
his life jacket on and then proceeded to catch 21 fish of
various variety - Yellow Belly Cod, Rock Fish & Link Cod
- all before breakfast.
Then it was Daddy's turn, this dime bright king was taken
trolling along a secret area many hundreds of miles from
anywhere!
I love the hue as the sun shines on these beauties, I will
be looking back on this day many times this winter with
pleasure and anticipation for the next season.
A White King, the first I have ever caught - the meat tastes
awesome. White kings are identical to other king salmon in
appearance, however the flesh is a pearly white and
extremely flavorful.
Let the work begin, I really enjoy processing fish - just
the idea of stocking up on such fine fare for the rest of
the year is appealing to me.
Granny Linda, watching Joshua as the work progresses, she
really like the taste of the White King.
Granny Linda's special home made brownies - my total
weakness.
Getting strips ready for the smoker, I have a new aluminum
smoker that I have been putting to good use - this stuff is
like candy.
Maybe the Brown Sugar has something to do with the good
flavor!
A couple smoker loads and some for the freezer - what a
great trip.
